Plan shop window screen content for after closing time

Choose a few clear messages for people passing outside. This guide combines product information, opening hours and contact details with a process for removing expired offers.

SUISSE-VIDEO · 5 October 2026 · 4-minute read

1. Give the display a clear purpose

Decide what someone should know after a brief glance: discover a product, return for advice or read more online. Choose a few messages that serve that purpose. The screen provides information; enquiries and purchases depend on the contact or sales route you actually offer.

2. Prepare unambiguous product details

State the product, pictured version, a specific benefit and its price with currency. Make clear if accessories are sold separately. Use your own images or images permitted for this purpose. Do not promise immediate availability unless your team has confirmed it.

3. Make opening times and contact details clear

Show regular opening hours and account for public holidays or other exceptions. A notice about the next opening needs a clear date if it might otherwise be ambiguous. Link QR codes only to working pages. If you already offer appointment requests, test the process through to its visible confirmation. A code alone does not create a booking service.

Example: a display plan for the fictional lighting shop Lichtpunkt

4. Plan display times and offer expiry

Assign suitable times to the prepared content in SUISSE-VIDEO and test the change after closing. Check the project’s day and time settings. A recurring weekly slot is not an expiry date for a one-off offer. If you cannot adequately limit its end, arrange manual removal. Check which content will follow it too.

5. Check the view from the pavement

Read the product name, price and opening hours through the window from the usual viewing distance. Check reflections, sunlight and the display after dark. Adjust brightness and the amount of text; essential details should make sense without sound. Ask someone else to test the QR code on the actual screen. Assign responsibility for price changes and expired offers.
