Remove sold-out offers and display confirmed alternatives

Step by step: Confirm and report the change. Find every affected display. Remove the offer or show a confirmed alternative. The guide covers reporting, updating, checking and restoring an offer.

1. Confirm and report the change

The kitchen or responsible sales colleague confirms which offer is unavailable and for how long. “Sold out today” differs from “discontinued”. Assign someone to update the display and name a deputy. A team message alone does not update the screen.

2. Find every affected display

Check the active text card and other places where the offer appears: other cards, language versions, videos in use and projects. Note what needs updating. Shared content may affect several locations, so establish the scope before editing.

3. Remove the offer or show a confirmed alternative

Edit the affected card or its project assignment so the unavailable offer is no longer promoted. The fictional example replaces “Lasagne · CHF 25” with “Vegetable risotto · CHF 24” only after the kitchen confirms it. If there is no alternative, display a straightforward notice. For a replacement, also check the description, image and price.

Fictional workflow. Dishes and prices are invented.

4. Check the preview and actual playback

Review the edited text, language versions, target project and scheduled times. Then watch the running programme on the affected screen until the relevant card appears. An immediate message can add a short-term notice, but does not replace correcting the scheduled offer card. Check the linked offer page too.

5. Plan how the offer returns

Record who confirms renewed availability and schedules the card again. Do not restore the offer simply because a new day has started. Recheck price, content and display times before it returns. This is a manual workflow; it does not assume an automatic connection to stock or till systems.
