Sold out? Update the offer on your information screen
A dish has sold out, but the screen still promotes it. A short, agreed procedure helps keep the display in line with actual availability.
Confirm and report the change
The kitchen or responsible sales colleague confirms which offer is unavailable and for how long. “Sold out today” differs from “discontinued”. Assign someone to update the display and name a deputy. A team message alone does not update the screen.
Remove the offer or show a confirmed alternative
Edit the affected card or its project assignment so the unavailable offer is no longer promoted. The fictional example replaces “Lasagne · CHF 25” with “Vegetable risotto · CHF 24” only after the kitchen confirms it. If there is no alternative, display a straightforward notice. For a replacement, also check the description, image and price.
Example: a lunch dish has sold out
| Step | Example | Check |
|---|---|---|
| Report | Lasagne sold out today | Kitchen confirms the offer and period |
| Alternative | Vegetable risotto · CHF 24 | Confirm availability, description and price |
| Display | Update the affected card and other occurrences | Check the screen and assign responsibility for restoring the offer |
Check the preview and actual playback
Review the edited text, language versions, target project and scheduled times. Then watch the running programme on the affected screen until the relevant card appears. An immediate message can add a short-term notice, but does not replace correcting the scheduled offer card. Check the linked offer page too.
