Present the offer, price and conditions together
Step by step: Name the offer first. Keep the pricing unit and key conditions beside the price. Specify when the offer applies. The guide explains which details belong together and how to check changes.
1. Name the offer first
Write down what is actually being offered. “Menu CHF 25” does not explain which meal or what is included. “Lunch menu with soup · CHF 25 per person” is more specific. Confirm the scope before designing the card.
2. Keep the pricing unit and key conditions beside the price
State the appropriate unit, such as per person, portion or item. Include important details alongside it, such as “Drinks not included”. A price on one card and an essential restriction on the next may be seen separately. Keep the offer understandable on a single card.
3. Specify when the offer applies
Distinguish daily availability from the duration of a promotion. “Monday–Friday, 11:30–14:00” is a time window; “until 30 October 2026” is an end date. Include only restrictions that actually apply. Match the display schedule to these details and check the current card on the device.
Example: turn a bare price into a clear offer
| Presentation | Example wording | Detail or issue |
|---|---|---|
| Unclear | Menu CHF 25 | Offer and pricing unit are missing |
| Clearer | Lunch menu with soup · CHF 25 per person | Drinks not included |
| Availability | Monday–Friday · 11:30–14:00 | Add the time window to the description of the offer |
4. Explain price options rather than using vague shorthand
If there are two defined options, name each with its own price. Do not use “from” instead of describing the offer: explain which option the starting price covers and how visitors can find the price for their chosen option. This article covers clear presentation, not a complete assessment of statutory pricing requirements.
5. Confirm the facts and review changes together
Ask the responsible person to confirm the offer, price and conditions. Compare the card with the menu and linked offer page. When a price changes, also check the description, unit, dates and other language versions. Ask during testing: what do I get, what does it cost and when is it available? Add any missing answer before displaying the card.
